“The cachettes: hidden treasures” Permanent Exhibition
On the occasion of the 118th anniversary of the Egyptian Museum, “The cachettes: hidden treasures” permanent exhibition was inaugurated on the 17th of November 2020. This exhibition was prepared after the royal mummies room was completely for permanent display in the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. The hall and the hall corridor were completely renovated to display the wooden sarcophagi that were preserved in the Deir el-Bahari cache, related to the priests of the god Amun and the god Monto, in addition to the royal cache. The exhibition also comprises a display of funerary groups, tools used in votive rites, funerary and religious papyri, and other cemetery items.
